Whiskey Sharp: Unraveled
Whiskey Sharp: Unraveled by Lauren Dane is $1.99! This is a Kindle Daily Deal and it’s being price matched. I know Sarah enjoyed this one and is excited for the next book in the series. Here’s what she said about Unraveled, and she typed this while on a snow slope! She assured me that she stopped snowboarding first.
It’s low on relationship conflict and high on family conflict. I really liked the found family aspects. And the food.
The sharpest ache comes from wanting what you think you can’t have…
Maybe Dolan has lived independent, free-spirited and unattached since leaving home at sixteen. Whiskey Sharp, Seattle’s sexy vintage-styled barbershop and whiskey bar, gave her a job—and a reason to put down roots. Cutting hair by day, losing herself drumming in a punk rock band by night, she’s got it good.
But a longtime crush that turns into a hot, edgy night with brooding and bearded Alexsei Petrov makes it a hell of a lot better.
Maybe’s blunt attitude and carnal smile hooked Alexsei from the start. Protecting people is part of his nature and Maybe is meant to be his…even if she doesn’t know it. Yet. He can’t help himself from wanting to protect and care for her.
But Maybe’s fiery independent spirit means pushing back when Alexsei goes too far. Still, he’s not afraid to do a little pushing of his own to get what he wants—her in his life, and his bed, for good. Maybe’s more intoxicating than all the liquor on his shelf…and he’s not afraid to ride the blade’s edge to bind her to him.
A Sword for His Lady
A Sword for His Lady by Mary Wine is $2.99! This historical romance is first in the Courtly Love series and I’m digging the cover. Readers loved the heroine, but found some of the couple’s problems seemed to be solved by the hero’s magic wang. And if you enjoy Wine’s books, a couple of her Highlander romances in the Sutherlands series are on sale.
He’d defend her keep…
After proving himself on the field of battle, Ramon de Segrave is appointed to the Council of Barons by Richard the Lionheart. But instead of taking his most formidable warrior on his latest Crusade, the king assigns Ramon an even more dangerous task-woo and win the Lady of Thistle Keep.
If only she’d yield her heart
Isabel of Camoys is a capable widow with no intention of surrendering her valuable estate. She’s fought long and hard for her independence, and if the price is loneliness, then so be it. She will not yield…even if she does find the powerful knight’s heated embrace impossible to ignore.
But when her land is threatened, Isabel reluctantly agrees to allow Ramon and his army to defend the keep-knowing that the price may very well be her heart.
The King’s Executioner
The King’s Executioner by Donna Fletcher is $2.99! Elyse read this historical romance and gave it a C+ in a Lightning Review:
If you need some tattooed, axe-wielding, warrior heroes in your life, then pick up The King’s Executioner, but if you’re a stickler for historical detail, maybe steer clear.
The King of the Pict has entered into an agreement with Cathbad, Overlord of the Western Region to wed his daughter Anin. Blyth, Anin’s mother, has given her husband four fine sons and King Talon hopes Anin will do the same for him. Unfortunately, Anin’s mother wants no part of the agreement. She intends for her daughter to pick a husband of her own choosing as the women of her tribe do. She sends Anin away and no amount of threats or persuasion will make Blyth confess her daughter’s whereabouts and so King Talon sends the one man he knows who can force the woman to speak and to bring Anin to him—his executioner.
Paine is feared by all, and rightfully so. He has the power to bring great suffering and with one swing of his double-sided axe a swift death. He has been sent to collect the future Queen and deliver her to King Talon. An easy mission and one he wants to see finished quickly, but from the moment he meets Anin he knows that will prove a challenge.
Anin has no choice but to go with the executioner and wed the High King, though she would prefer not to, especially after she meets the executioner. He brings things alive in her that she has been forced to keep hidden and as her secrets begin to surface so do her feelings for the executioner.
The couple faces insurmountable challenges on their journey to Pictland and even more when they finally stand before the King.
X Marks the Scot
X Marks the Scot by Victoria Roberts is $1.99! This has an enemies to lovers element and the hero is tasked with escorting the heroine. Some readers wanted more tension given the whole “enemies” vibe. However, others loved the feisty heroine. It has a 3.9-star rating on Goodreads.
He was a Highland Rogue Wicked with a Bow and Just as Wicked with the Ladies.

She Never Asked for a Bodyguard…
Liadain wasn’t thrilled to be left in the care of her clan’s arch-rival. It was as if the man never had a lady tell him no before! And yet as whispers of treason swirl through the court and the threat of danger grows even sharper, her bitter enemy soon becomes the only one she can trust…
